Is it just me, or is Affinity Photo a bit shite?

Curious what the message was that Apple offered the photographer. Was it before or after updating the OS?

No idea. The photographer has no idea about upgrades and follows what appear on the screen.

Another very solid (though less flashy) photo editor is on sale just now:

The point of Lightroom is not just editor, but continuity and system - it has in 99.9% of cases been a safe & reliable platform for a picture library for 15 years. I hope FM does keep Acorn up and running, but the reality is will anyone be able to open a .acorn file in 20 years time? I hope so, but the beauty of industry standard files like .dng is that answer will undoubtedly be ‘yes’. Only last week I opened a handful of RAW files shot in 2001 and the scary thing is that I can extract far more information, make better looking images than when I shot and processed them originally.

The problem with software and subscriptions is when people opt-out of all adobe comms and ignore information about upcoming changes which Mojave / Catalina have necessitated with the move to 64bit code.
