If I’ve got an existing admin page from the likes of TotalCMS then I might want to see some basic stats there whenever I login.

It won’t need its own admin page, putting it on another admin page will work.

Matomo has a Cloudflare plugin that can get the GeoLocations from them as they are pretty darn accurate. This assumes that you are using Cloudflare though.

Next… I am moving off Matomo.

I like Matomo. However, so many other apps that I use to run my business support Google Analytics integration. None of them ever plan on supporting Matomo. Therefore, I have moved back to GA after 5 years on Matomo. :-(
