For the developers not aware, it is possible to encrypt the plist data of their stack add-ons, so that only the Stacks plugin and in future Stacks App is able to read it. I have extended the original script by @isaiah to make it possible to mass encrypt stacks and child stacks. Have a look here and let me know if you have questions.

This would of course effectively disable the “optional upgrade” of stacks, that would bypass the need to have Stacks installed.
