Fixed Background Images

Just wondering why, when setting a background image as ‘fixed’ (so you scroll other content over it) the image is cropped.

Although I’m sure this is a universal thing, for the record the specific stack I’m using is the Source Container Plus stack with Fixed background image option.

Anyone explain in layman’s terms? @habitualshaker

The container where you use this approach effectively becomes a window through which you can see the static background image. That image has to fill the full viewport so that when that window moves up/down the page you are always seeing the image behind it. Hope that makes sense?

Now that you put it like that 😁. Not dissimilar to the parallax effect.
